Three events shaping the villages for years to come - 13th March 2008       Back to Picture Galleries Index

Patrick Kilker is restoring the wall next to the Victorian letterbox in Little Eversden High Street. No ordinary wall, this. The decorative panels were constructed with just sixty cobbles each to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The lowest layer is now below the pavement.

Further up the High Street, Gary Bird is finishing off the fine new thatched ridge on Starr's Cottage. Gary is an accomplished thatcher who operates mainly in the St Ives area. His years of experience show up well in this piece of craftsmanship.

Meanwhile, Terry Osborne is planting three trees in the entrance to the Recreation Ground. The trees are in memory of Derek Mallows whose life enriched The Eversdens. (Betty made sure Terry got the trees straight.)
